The search for the ideal beauty world

Who determines what beauty is? And where did it come from? How is it possible we live in a world of so many

unrealistic beauty examples and images? While most of the time we can not even associate with them? This wrong way of communication of what beauty needs to be leads to shocking health results. If we don’t change our vision of ideal beauty it will even get worse for our next generations.

Nowadays boys and girls look at ideal beauty in unhealthy way. Figures tell us that:

42 % of girls from the age 6 till 8 years old want to be thinner already.

51 % of the girls from the age 9 till 10 feels better about themselves when they are on a diet.

53 % of 13 year old girls are unhappy with their fIgure and when they reach the age of 17, this percentage increases with 78%.

If the girls have achieved the age of 17 these girls and boys have seen so many tv commercials telling them that they should be a decorative sex object or have a fIgure that many can not reach. 7 million girls and women under the age of 25 have an eating disorder ( myNEDA.org). Anorexia has the highest rate in case of mental diseases. 80 % of women feel worse about themselves after seeing a beauty ad. $20 trillion is spent on the beauty market in the U.S.

This is a ridiculous amount of money to spent with the result to make people feel worse about themselves..

Almost 25 million men and women are suffering from anorexia, bulemia or other eating disorders. Besides all the health problems there is also an negative effect on people that are colored, have a different sexual orientation, people with disabilities, different religions and so many more. The big problem is not the fact we live in a world of photoshop or digital manipulation or fakeness. But the problem is the fact there is no balance between those two worlds it doesn’t correspond with reality. The beauty market has so much control over many insecure people. We shouldn’t allow them to. Hopefully in the future we will see many more brands and commercials, campaigns, music & movie industries showing us more realness and less fakeness. Think again : Why create a world that isn’t healty and isn’t real?

Every human being in this world should feel valued in this society regardless of your sex, sexual orientation, religion or origin. We must all learn to look different at ideal beauty.
